Of course. I ascended to the throne, and within a month was embroiled in a five year long war for the soul of Fodlan. My rule has been complicated, but peace has come. There are complications ahead, but less so now than there were before.

Well, I will be glad you have managed to find peace - even if your rule has been interrupted. Peace... that is what we ought to desire for our people. Wars may need to be fought, but they are never good or quick.

[ She fought more than her share. But it was never for the joy of battle. ]

I am sorry to say that my reign ended in battle and war. I hope yours does not.

It shouldn't. Fodlan stands unified, and with inroads for peaceful relations with the neighboring kingdoms. My aim is to create a prosperous region, and I'll do all I can to prevent more war.

[Claude was an opportunity with Almyra, and she'd already begun doing things to help Brigid, undoing the wrongs committed by Adrestia prior to her arrival. Dagda...was small, and would likely be willing to accept aid without much fuss, and that was a start.]

I am sorry to hear of your kingdom's troubles, though. I know it can't be easy, seeing what became of it all.

I... am moving beyond it. Or at least trying to. It's taken me a great deal of time, but I am trying to not let myself be dragged down by what has been. It...

[ She trails off with a sigh. ]

...I still feel deeply responsible. And I always will. But I cannot throw myself endlessly into the next task until I wear myself down to nothing. People here have helped me understand that.

[ Even if there are good days and bad days. ]

[Edelgard reaches out, touching Saber's hand with a gloved palm.]

Progress has been made. I hope that it continues, and that you eventually have more good days. You certainly seem to have earned them.

[ The press of fingers against her hand makes her start slightly, but she doesn't pull back - although Edelgard does earn a slightly startled look. ]

I hope so as well. [ She pauses, not quite sure what to say. ]
